"A year ago when I created the Victor Doan brand, I didn't think people in the fashion world would love it so much. It's my hope to be able to integrate Chinese culture into modern design, to bring about a new kind of fashion.”

In August 2015, cutting edge French-Chinese designer Victor Doan responded to a project launched by UNESCO called "Culture Reborn, Cultural Rebirth" which called on the United Nations to recognize the need to protect China's traditional culture and art, and appealed to the public to support a world cultural heritage in danger of extinction.

Subsequently Victor Doan was brave enough to set out from France on an exploratory conservation tour of China's traditional artistic culture. During this tour he witnessed crafts that had been passed down from generation to generation of mountain tribes without writing, only through singing and word of mouth, and took down his own fashion notes.
